At Handsome Hounds, we strive to provide the best customer service possible. We want our customers to be 100% happy with their Handsome Hounds purchases! If for any reason you receive your order and a product does not meet your expectations, please return it to us, unworn, within 2 weeks for a 100% refund; longer during holiday periods. After 2 weeks, you may return it for exchange, subject to item availability, or for store credit. Embroidered monogrammed items are NOT refundable.
We stand behind our products and expect them to be worn by your dog for years. We will accept returns on any merchandise that involve defects not related to normal wear and tear.
What if an item is out of stock?
When an item featured on handsomehounds.com is no longer in stock, we make every attempt to remove that item from the Web site in a timely manner. If your selected merchandise is out of stock, we will contact you immediately upon receipt of your order. We will inform you of the shipping schedule. Your credit card is not charged until the merchandise is shipped. If the shipping time is not satisfactory, your order may be cancelled.

How do I care for my purchase of a wax cotton product?
Care of Wax Cotton
DO NOT WASH your Handsome Hounds Wax Cotton Coat, as using detergent will reduce the wax proofing on the coat.
To maintain the amazing water resistant characteristic of the coat, follow these steps to clean it:
- Gently remove any visible dirt with a damp sponge or gentle brush.
- Never use detergents, liquid or powder.
- Do not put the Handsome Hounds Wax Cotton Coat in the washing machine or dryer.
- Do not send to the dry cleaner. If absolutely necessary, use a little bar soap, flaked soap or Saddle soap on specific areas only.
- Hang coat to dry (but never near flames).
Reproofing Your Wax Cotton
Reproof your Handsome Hounds Wax Cotton Coat as needed. This may mean using a reproofing cream to restore the water resistant characteristic of the coat, or sending the coat out to be professionally reproofed.

How do I know what size to purchase?
It is difficult to calculate the size needed for your pet by breed, shape or weight. All of our products are sized in inches as many manufactures vary in their sizing. It is very important for you to measure your pet as accurately as possible and order specifically to each product’s sizing descriptions.
Please use the following guidelines along with a fabric tape measure to be certain you are ordering the correct size.
Collar: Measure the circumference of your pet’s neck with two fingers under the tape measure, so that the collar is worn comfortably.
Apparel: Measure the length of your pet’s back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Measure the dimension around the dog’s neck and barrel of the chest. If the measurements are between sizes, we recommend going up one size.
